2007 Auction Scene Sets Records:
- The Rothchild Family's Faberge Egg-Owned by the family for over a century, this pink enamel, gold, and diamond egg was one of only 12 ever made to Imperial standards for a private client. The egg sold to a Russian bidder for more than $18 million, in an auction that lasted less than 10 minutes.
- Chippendale Mahogany Tea Table circa 1760 -A Philadelphia carved mahogany tea table with pie crust edge brought more than $6 million. While not attributable to a specific maker, this Philadelphia table is unusual because of its rim, featuring ten scallops. Only the best craftsmen could produce scallops of this number and regularity, and very few did. From the collection of Houston entrepreneur James L. Britton.
- Honus Wagner T206 Baseball card-This card, previously owned by Wayne Gretzky, the owner of the L.A. Kings, and Walmart, has changed hands four times in the last ten years, and the price has nearly doubled each time. The latest sale brought just under $3 million.
- Rhead Pottery Vase-an eleven inch tall vase featuring a stylized California Landscape by potter Frederick Hurten Rhead brought $516, 000. Rhead was a much sought after designer, whose credits include the design of Homer Laughlin's Fiestaware.
- Blick Electric Typewriter-Invented by American Charles Blickensderfer, and manufactured in 1902, this Blick electric set a record for a typewriter at a German auction with a bid of $100,000.
- Introducing Spider Man- this comic book, The Amazing Fantasy no 15, introduced Spider Man to the world, and set a record of $227,000., the highest price ever for a cica 1960's comic book.
